My song titled "When will the Ignorance End," from Walls to Rose Songs of Changing Men, was chosen for the Conference theme. I feel proud that it was chosen. I also performed at that conference and at the main stage at the march rally of the first National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights.
NCBG, as it was known at the time, was so very fortunate to be able to engage talents, such as Blackberri to perform at the National Conference of 3rd World Lesbians and Gays, sponsored by NCBG and held in conjuction with 1st National March on Washington for Lesbiana and Gay Rights. One of his classics is "Eat the Rich," and he can be seen in a more recent rendition of this song in the Hall of Fame at this site.
The keynote speaker for the 1979 National Conference of Third World Lesbians and Gays was Audre Lorde.
